Beside You

May 27th, 2008

As I lay here beside you;
All my dreams come true;
Because all I dream about;
Is laying next to you.

Random late night poetry #1

May 23rd, 2008

Here are some random poem/writey things I wrote last night (well.. this morning technically).

—-

Standing on the edge of the end;
Choose your words carefully;
For they will be the last things your loved ones hear;
Before you give them your bullets;
To protect them from the horror to come.

—-

I think nothing of myself;
Only of you.
All of my hopes and dreams;
Can sit on a shelf;
If it will make you happy.

—-

The pretty pink flower does not ask questions;
It does not expect answers;
Maybe this is what keep the pretty pink flower;
Pretty and pink.

The Iron Man

May 17th, 2008

The iron man is strongest of all. Nothing can penetrate his skin.
Not the warmth of the sun, not the breath of the wind, not even love.

He will live through everything in life, unhurt, but so alone.

So take off the iron skin, and let the pain caress you. Your friends are here to take away the hurt.

Giants

May 13th, 2008

Here I stand on the shoulders of giants, and I pity them, for they can see everything;
They can see the fires of burning cities in far away lands,

they can hear the screams of the fallen in distant warzones;
but for this, they are closer to God than I ever will be.

It is their burden and their reward;
To see everything is a terrible price.

I want to get down.

Photoshopped

April 16th, 2008

Well, I can’t afford photoshop for Mac, so I use the open source, and free, program called GIMP.

Here’s a couple of things I knocked together over the past few days.

Posting will be sporadic, as I seem to lack the motivation to write stuff right now.

Enjoy these anyway.

Normal Service

March 28th, 2008

Sorry for the lack of anything, but I’ve been busy, and was on holiday last week.

Normal service will resume next week.

Factual Friday

March 7th, 2008

Another factual Friday! A little bit late, but still just about Friday.

  • It takes about a week to make a jelly bean.
  • The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds, all over it’s body
  • No piece of paper can be folded in half more than 7 times. (Though I swear I’ve done 8 before, honest!)
  • You can’t lick your elbow.
  • Almost everyone who read they last fact will try and lick their elbow =P

Have a good weekend, I know I will.

Jason

Factual Friday

February 29th, 2008

The third factual Friday! Here come some more facts for you to learn:

  • Hedgehogs and porcupines will float in water, as they trap lots of air between their quills. This also insulates them.
  • Because the Earths spins eastward, you can throw an object further east than to the west (it spins beneath the object).
  • A ‘jiffy’ is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.
  • The opposite sides of a dice cube always add up to seven.
  • Months that begin with a Sunday will always have a “Friday the 13th.”

There you have it, a bunch more facts. One day you’ll be on QI or something and thank me for these.

And the winner is…

February 25th, 2008

Blu-Ray. Son of a bitch. Sony’s betamax V2 has won, with Toshiba announcing it is dropping HD DVD. The less DRMified and more standard HD disk format.

Possibly because they paid off Toshiba with a fab plant (for making microchips).

So if someone offers you a cheap HD DVD player, there is a reason. It’s obsolete, defunct, only good for playing the few dozen titles released, and upscaling your DVDs.

The future is downloads anyway.

Factual Friday

February 23rd, 2008

The second factual Friday is here!

  • Diamonds are forever. Or are they? Diamonds are made of carbon and can be vaporised with a magnifying glass, leaving nothing but a puff of CO2.
  • Nearly all polar bears are left handed
  • The first product to have a bar code was Wrigley’s gum.
  • In Australia the $5 to $100 notes are made of plastic. They are more waterproof and are meant to wear better than traditional notes
  • An ostrich’s eye is bigger than its brain.

Now go out and amaze your friends, befuddle your enemies, but most of all enjoy the weekend!
Jason.

Edit: Damn! Sorry this is late, I even wrote this on Thursday.
