Review Friday: Mighty Mouse
The Mighty Mouse. Apples first multi button mouse, released in 2005. Until then all mice had a single button (think the iMac puck mouse and such).

The mighty mouse is odd in that it doesn’t have traditional buttons, sensing the pressure instead. This allows it to have multiple ‘buttons’ under a single shell. The mouse has left click, right click and a squeezable button on the side. It’s an optical USB mouse, and is available in a bluetooth version. It fits comfortably in my hand. It also has a vertical/horizontal scroll ball. This is prone to getting clogged with dirt, requiring the user to spend several minutes a month cleaning it.
Under Windows, the mouse lacks the ability to scroll horizontally using the ball, otherwise it functions as any USB mouse.
Pros
- Nice design
- Apple quality
Cons
- Scroll ball prone to becoming dirty
- Lack of windows support
Yeah, I missed one. This review friday is being written on Sunday. I was out on Friday night, and working Saturday. Oh well.
Have a good weekend, what’s left of it. Only 16 hours till I have to be back at work =/
